About Your Dentist

Alex Pence is a native of Lincolnton, NC.  He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1998, with a bachelor’s degree in Biology.  He earned his doctorate at UNC- Chapel Hill School of Dentistry in 2004.  After graduation, he completed a residency in Advanced General Dentistry at UNC Chapel Hill.  Following this residency, Dr. Pence joined the Biltmore Dental Group in Asheville, NC, in August 2005.  Dr. Pence is a member of the American Dental Association.  He serves on the board of the NC Academy of General Dentistry and has been involved at the national level with the AGD.  He received a Fellowship Award from the AGD in 2011, becoming one of only four dentists in NC to receive the award that year.  In 2023 Dr. Pence received a fellowship award from the Pierre Fauchard Academy, for dental service and leadership.  Dr. Pence is active in the community and serves on the boards of the local Salvation Army and Downtown Rotary Club.  In his free time, he enjoys traveling and attending concerts.  Dr. Pence and his wife Eula, have one daughter, Britta, born in 2016.
